Emmy "Tadpole" Linares

The Rochester and Pittsford communities are mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Emmy Linares, who passed away in an accident on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Known for her bright spirit and her deep love for animals, Emmy was a cherished daughter, friend, and volunteer who left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Reunited with “The Chief”

Emmy was the beloved daughter of Edie (Williams) Linares and the late Christopher Linares, a prominent Rochester businessman and former Chairman of Lollypop Farm, who passed away in 2020. To her father, she was affectionately known as “Tadpole,” a nickname that symbolized the special bond they shared. Her family finds peace in knowing that Emmy is now reunited with her father, “The Chief,” in eternal rest.

A Legacy of Compassion

Following in her family’s footsteps, Emmy was a devoted supporter of the Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester. She spent much of her time advocating for rescued cats and dogs, carrying on the Linares family tradition of service and volunteerism. Her kindness toward all living creatures was a testament to her character.

Family and Remembrance

Emmy is survived by her mother, Edie Linares; her aunts and uncles, including Vincent, Kathaleen, James (Deborah) Linares, and Susan (Jim) Rossillo; and her extended “Rochester family” who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her father, Christopher, and her paternal grandparents, Vincent and Marie Patricia Linares.

In honor of Emmy’s life and her love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450.
